Once you locate the dialing number for your phone carrier, this is as easy as calling a number! There are a few things you'll need to have on hand before we get started:
- Your unique Signpost phone number - if you don't have this, reach out to support at ccsupport@signpost.com
- Make sure you know the carrier for the phone number you plan on forwarding (ex. Verizon)
Next, let's decide whether you want your phone to ring a few times before connecting to a Signpost live receptionist, or if you want all of your calls to connect to a receptionist directly. Here are some use cases that outline why you might choose one or the other:
No Rings - Connect Directly
In this instance, you might be going to a job site. You don't want your phone to ring at all while you are around existing customers. By letting your phone number connect directly to a receptionist, you won't be disrupted. All your calls will be handled professionally and you can review call summaries in your text or email inbox when you are available.
Ring a Few Times - Then Connect
This is a great option during the workday when you know you're going to be busy, but you might have a chance between tasks to answer some calls. With this option, your phone will ring a few times. If you don't answer, then the call will connect to a live receptionist who will be happy to respond on your behalf. If you have a spare moment and want to answer, you can catch the call while it's ringing on your phone.
